Who gets in, and what they can take

Most of what people call image security is really access control: the right people seeing the right galleries, with the right ability to download.

Password-protected galleries

Lock a gallery behind a password for client-only or pre-release work. Per gallery, in the free plugin, so a client gallery can be closed while the public portfolio stays open.

User permissions

Set who can view and who can manage, per gallery or per album. Restrict a gallery to registered users only, so private work is never one shared URL away from being public.

Fine-grained global control over access, editing and roles across every gallery, album and setting — instead of repeating the same rules per gallery.

Secure gallery downloads

Let people download a whole gallery, with control over resolution, who is allowed to do it and how long the download link stays valid.

A password on a gallery answers “can they see it”. It does not answer “who deleted the client’s selects on Tuesday”. That question needs a different tool. Agency tier features:

Frequently asked questions

Can anyone still screenshot my images?

Yes — anything a browser can display can be captured, and no plugin changes that. What these features do is remove the effortless routes, put your credit on what does get taken, and control who reaches the gallery in the first place.

Does watermarking change my original files?

No. The watermark is applied to the version that gets displayed. Your uploaded file stays in the media library exactly as it was, so you can change the mark, move it, or remove it later without re-uploading anything.

Is password protection per gallery or site-wide?

Per gallery, so one client’s gallery can be locked while your public portfolio stays open. Permissions can also be set per album, and the Pro Plus Permissions Manager handles the same rules globally when there are too many to repeat by hand.

Do clients need a WordPress account to review a gallery?

Not with the Agency proofing links. Clients open a secure token link, make their selections and approve — no account is created and no site access is granted. For simpler cases, a password-protected gallery in the free plugin covers it.

What actually gets recorded in the activity log?

Meaningful actions rather than every page view — edits, permission changes, approvals and deletions, with the person and the timestamp, all searchable. It is an Agency feature, aimed at teams where more than one person can change the same gallery.
