Every Album has its own public web page, separate from any page where you have embedded the Album with a shortcode or block. This view page gives an Album a permanent, shareable URL of its own — a single link that shows the Album’s covers and lets a visitor open any Gallery inside it.

What an Album view page is #
A view page is the address WordPress gives an Album so it can be opened directly in a browser. Album view pages live under a /fotogrids/album/ path, followed by the Album’s slug. You can reach an Album’s view page from the editor admin bar using the native View link, the same way you would preview a post.
The view page is independent of embedding. You can embed the same Album on as many posts or pages as you like with the shortcode or block, and the view page remains available alongside them as the Album’s own canonical address.
An Album view page displays the Album’s covers — one cover per Gallery assigned to the Album. Selecting a cover takes the visitor to that Gallery, either to the Gallery’s own view page or, when smooth transitions are enabled, by loading the Gallery in place. The path a cover takes is set on the Album itself, not on the View Pages tab.
Shared settings with Gallery view pages #
Gallery and Album view pages share a single configuration. The same View Pages settings tab styles both, so they stay consistent across your site without separate setup. Everything described in the Galleries view page article applies equally to Albums — the same Layout mode choice between Integrated and Standalone, the same Integrated behaviour toggles, and the same Standalone appearance controls.

- Integrated — the Album is treated as a normal post inside your active theme. Your theme owns the header, footer, sidebar, and navigation, and FotoGrids contributes the Album’s covers. The page looks like the rest of your site.
- Standalone — FotoGrids renders a theme-less shell that owns the whole page, bypassing the theme entirely.
In Integrated mode, the five behaviour toggles control how the Album acts as a post: showing a title block above the covers, hiding the theme’s featured image, allowing comments, including the page in author and date archives, and previous/next navigation. In Integrated mode, previous and next links stay within Albums, letting visitors move from one Album’s view page to another.
In Standalone mode, the accent colour, light or dark theme, maximum width, and page header control the appearance of the shell. The covers are laid out within the maximum width you set, the same way Gallery items are on a Gallery view page.
Where to configure these settings #
All of the controls above live on the View Pages tab at FotoGrids → Settings → View Pages, alongside the Gallery settings. Because the configuration is shared, changing a setting there affects both Gallery and Album view pages at once. Enhanced View Page Editing (Pro) #
The free plugin gives view pages the shared configuration on the View Pages tab. FotoGrids Pro adds enhanced view page editing — richer control over how an Album view page and its covers are laid out and presented, beyond the global layout mode and appearance settings.
On free installations the shared View Pages settings remain fully available; the enhanced editing controls appear with a Pro badge.
