FotoGrids adds two native modules to the Divi Builder: FotoGrids Gallery and FotoGrids Album. Each module inserts an existing Gallery or Album into your Divi layout and renders a live preview inside the Visual Builder, with the collection’s own settings driving everything visitors see. The modules are built for Divi 5 and edit natively in the Visual Builder — there is no legacy badge and nothing to enable beyond having both Divi and FotoGrids active.

The FotoGrids modules require Divi 5. They are native Divi 5 modules, not legacy shortcode modules, so the Divi 5 Visual Builder is needed to edit them.
Adding the Module #
Open a page in the Divi Builder, add a module, and search for FotoGrids. Two modules appear: FotoGrids Gallery and FotoGrids Album. Insert either one onto the row.
Selecting a Gallery or Album #
Open the module’s settings and find the Gallery (or Album) field in the Content group. It is a dropdown listing every published and private Gallery (or Album) on the site by title — Choose the FotoGrids gallery to display. Pick a collection from the list and the live preview renders in the builder.
The module stores only the Gallery or Album ID. Editing the collection in FotoGrids updates every Divi page that embeds it the next time the page loads — there is nothing to re-insert.
The Live Preview #
Once a collection is selected, the module renders the real Gallery or Album in the Visual Builder using the exact layout, columns, captions, and effects configured on the collection. The preview comes from FotoGrids’ own render pipeline — identical to the published page, not a simplified stand-in.
Editor Preview Options #
Because the preview is a working Gallery, clicking an item in the builder would normally open the Lightbox or follow the item’s link, which makes the module hard to select. Two toggles in the module’s Content settings control this. Both affect the Divi Builder only and have no effect on the published page.

When off, clicking an item in the preview selects the module instead of triggering the item’s action, so you can position and configure the module freely. Turn it on to test the real click behaviour — the Lightbox, an external link, or whatever the Gallery is set to do — from inside the builder.

Galleries that paginate still render their pagination chrome so the preview matches the published page. When this is off, the pagination buttons stay visible but inactive, keeping every item on screen while you edit. Turn it on to click through the pages as a visitor would.
Styling and Layout #
The modules inherit Divi’s full decoration toolkit — sizing, spacing, borders, box shadow, background, position, and the rest of the Design tab — which control how the module sits within your Divi layout. The Gallery’s internal appearance — columns, gaps, captions, item sizing, Lightbox — is set on the Gallery in FotoGrids, not in Divi. This keeps one source of truth for the Gallery’s look across every page that embeds it, whether through Divi, a block, or a shortcode.
