Installation Guide

FotoGrids (Free) is installed like any WordPress plugin — either from the WordPress.org plugin directory inside wp-admin, or by uploading a zip file manually.

Installing from the WordPress plugin directory #

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
  2. Search for FotoGrids.
  3. Click Install Now next to the FotoGrids listing, then click Activate.

FotoGrids creates its database tables and sets up default options automatically on activation.

Installing by uploading a zip file #

If you downloaded FotoGrids as a .zip file (for example, a pre-release or a version you downloaded directly from fotogrids.com):

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.
  2. Click Choose File, select the .zip file, and click Install Now.
  3. Click Activate Plugin.

Installing FotoGrids Pro #

FotoGrids Pro is a separate plugin that extends FotoGrids (Free). You must have FotoGrids (Free) installed and active before activating Pro.

  1. Download the FotoGrids Pro .zip from your account at fotogrids.com.
  2. Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.
  3. Upload and install the zip file.
  4. Click Activate Plugin.
  5. Go to FotoGrids → License and enter your license key to unlock Pro features.

Pro will display a notice and refuse to activate if FotoGrids (Free) is not active.

After activation #

Once FotoGrids is active, a FotoGrids menu item appears in the WordPress admin sidebar. From there you can access the dashboard, create Galleries and Albums, manage templates, view statistics, and configure plugin settings.

If you are new to FotoGrids, the Gallery Editor Overview article is a good starting point.

Uninstalling #

Deactivating FotoGrids leaves all data intact. To remove FotoGrids completely including all Galleries, Albums, settings, and database tables, use Plugins → Installed Plugins → Delete (after deactivating). FotoGrids will remove all its data on deletion.

If you have FotoGrids Pro, deactivate and delete Pro before deactivating and deleting Free.
